The Tearney laboratory has developed a new form of miniature endoscopy, termed spectrally encoded endoscopy (SEE). SEE probes can be made as small as 0.35mm, and can provide high-definition images of internal organs through fine gauge needles. The team is fabricating miniature SEE probes for various clinical applications, including image-guided therapy and fetal imaging/surgery.
