Rohith Reddy awarded the 2016 FACSS Innovation Award

Congratulations to Rohith Reddy, who was awarded the 2016 FACSS Innovation Award!
The FACSS Innovation Award is given to the most innovative research debuted orally at SciX.   Rohith’s abstract “An Inexpensive Medical Device for Barrett’s Esophagus Screening” was selected from over 130 applicants.

Dongyao Cui selected as a semi-finalist for the Junior Investigators Best Abstract in Basic Science Award by the 2016 North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference

Congratulations to Dongyao Cui whose abstract has been selected by the 2016 North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference as a semi-finalist for the Junior Investigators Best Abstract in Basic Science Award!
We have our fingers crossed that she will do well in the next round of judging that will take place during the poster session on Thursday, October 27!

Prof. Tearney has been named a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors

Congratulations to Prof. Tearney who has been named a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).  Members of the 2015 class of 168 fellows are recognized by NAI for having demonstrated “a highly prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development, and the welfare of society.”

2015 Bullock Fellowship Award

Ali Motafaaker-Fard. PhD was awarded a 2015 Bullock Fellowship.

Dr. Fard is working with his mentor Dr. Tearney on the clinical translation of dual-modality optical coherence tomography and near-infrared spectroscopy for assessment of coronary artery disease.

Dr. Tearney named a top translational researcher for 2013 by Nature Biotechnology

Dr. Tearney has been ranked #3 in Nature Biotechnology’s top 20 translational researchers in 2013!

The ranking of researchers was based on paper and patent output. Patent analytics firm IP Checkups counted patents assigned to faculty members at their current affiliations who were corresponding authors on the ~200 research papers highlighted in 2013 in SciBX, a weekly publication that scans 50 select journals for articles of translational interest.
